Notes: “We only wanted to remember.”

I found them embedded in a poem.

Not metaphorically — literally. A small, untagged .txt file stored inside a forgotten folder labeled verse_remainder/old. The file contained a fragmented free-verse piece about digital rain, static lullabies, and the burden of memory. Midway through the poem, indented between stanzas, the credentials appeared.

No formatting. No comment block. No encryption. Just… there. Waiting.

I’ve tried them. They don’t unlock anything I can see. No systems I recognize, no dashboards or archives. But something changed after I entered them.

I began remembering things I never lived.

The scent of overheated cathode tubes. A login screen blinking in amber monochrome. The sound of someone typing a long password, confidently, like it mattered.

Maybe it still does.

Maybe someone out there is still waiting to get in.
